About Us
Diane DeMarco, Principal, founded Marketing @ Work in 2004 with the mission of providing high-quality marketing services to local and regional companies and organizations.
Most recently, she served as Vice President of Marketing Communications for the Frederick-based First Nationwide Mortgage Corporation.
Diane is active in the community, and serves as an Ambassador for the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Habitat for Humanity Frederick County Marketing Committee. She is a former board member of the Greater Frederick Advertising Federation, and is past vice president and marketing chair for the Frederick County Commission For Women.
Holli Rathman is a 1995 graduate of the Communication Design program at Kutztown University, and has worked with clients from across the country, including: Coca-Cola, Hershey, the Washington Redskins, Hilton Hotels, the Marriott Corporation, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel.
Holli has in-house experience with The International Association of Fire Chiefs, Chadick & Kimball, and the Discovery Channel. She has worked on numerous conventions and retail spaces, and enjoys working with small businesses and non-profits. She also has extensive publication experience, and is also co-founder of Brides and Weddings of Northern Virginia.
Mary Ann Beane is a graduate of Shepherd University’s College of Fine Arts, where she earned her BFA in design and marketing. She has worked with a variety clients, from the corporate sector to the performing arts.
Before returning to Frederick, she worked at several top DC ad agencies, and was responsible for concept development and the design and production of projects ranging from corporate identity programs to ad and direct mail campaigns, exhibit graphics, re-branding and television commercials.
Past clients include IcelandAir Airlines, Marriott International, Ritz Camera Centers, and RiteAid Pharmacy. However, Mary Ann feels her “true calling” is helping the small-business/non-profit sector achieve success. She has provided designs for clients such as Guide Dogs of America, Cakes for a Cause and The American Red Cross.
Linda Norris is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She is a writer, journalist and corporate marketing communications expert who loves helping business and non-profit organizations tell their stories in ways that engage their customers and members. Linda is especially knowledgable about issues of environmentally sustainable practices and faith-based communications.
Her career background was cultivated as a reporter for four different daily print news organizations; ten years as director of the Frederick County Office of Recycling, and a decade of marketing communications for a local steel manufacturer. In that position she headed up the company’s community relations activities; media and customer relations focused on engineering practices and green building; and event planning. Linda is a member of the Frederick Women’s Business Network, Business Networking International, Green Building Council and the International Association of Business Communications.
Mary Ellen Mitchell brings a love of creative writing to the Marketing@Work team.Her work has appeared in regional newspapers and magazines over the past 9 years including Frederick Magazine, 270 Inc., and online at Want2Dish.com.
She has a background in non-profit development and public relations and has raised more than $4 million dollars to assist her former employers deliver programs and services to communities in Maryland and throughout the south eastern United States.
Her passion is to help the companies and non profits she works with to tell their stories in a compelling fashion to achieve their mission. She can often be found connecting volunteers with organizations and introducing business potential partners to each other to forward business goals.
Mary Ellen is a graduate of Leadership Frederick County and serves on the LFC Council and chairs the Leaders on Loan Program. She is a Board member and Publicity Chair of the Western Maryland Association of Fundraising Professionals. Her volunteer work extends to her church, St Joseph on Carrollton Manor, where she is a member of the capital campaign committee and publicity chair of their Country Fair which she co- founded in 1994.
When she is not attending a meeting or tapping the computer keys, Mary Ellen enjoys the company of her three 20-something children, attending theater, catching up with friends and family and bargain hunting.
Intern Katie Simon is a recent Towson University graduate. She majored in business administration with a marketing concentration. She was actively involved in Phi Sigma Pi, a co-ed National Honors Fraternity at Towson University, where she held a variety of leadership positions.
She previously served as a marketing/advertising intern at MileOne Automotive, where she assisted with social media reputation management. Katie has been an intern at Marketing @ Work since October 2011, and has worked on projects for Marketing @ Work, Klaar College Consulting, Terry Mahoney’s “Walking For Those Who Can’t” campaign and Real Comfort Systems.
